Driven by electrification, data center expansion, and industrial growth, MISO’s risk landscape is rapidly evolving, and the grid operator continues to work with it members to ensure a reliable system for 45 million Americans.
New actions taken include:
- Collaborative planning with members and states to accelerate resource development and coordinate large-load integration.
- Queue reforms and the launch of the Expedited Resource Addition Study (ERAS) process to reduce study timelines and fast-track critical projects.
- Transmission planning in the Midwest and South, alongside operational improvements such as dynamic reserve requirements and updated resource accreditation.
