The Brazilian Independent System Operator (ONS) sent a technical delegation to the United States between July 13 and 24, 2026, to visit independent system operators, including CAISO, ERCOT, and PJM, all of which are members of GO15.
The initiative aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences regarding real-time operations, power system monitoring, and processes for managing large-scale transmission grids. During the meetings, participants shared experiences, challenges, and perspectives related to the evolution of control centers and the increasing complexity of power systems.
The initiative reinforces ONS’s commitment to seeking international best practices and continuously improving its processes, contributing to the security and reliability of the Brazilian Interconnected Power System.
