Elia Group has published its latest study entitled “Roadmap to net zero” on November 19. On this occasion, Elia Group’s experts outlined new insights related to the construction of a climate-neutral energy system by 2050 from a European perspective, with a focus on Belgium and Germany.
Does Europe have enough renewable energy to decarbonize completely by 2050? What energy mix is needed? Can an RE-intensive system be balanced with current and future flexibilities? How can we keep the lights on for longer periods with little or no sun? Elia Group addressed these questions in this study to accelerate the path to carbon neutrality in an efficient manner.
The main results of the study have been presented at a hybrid event on Friday, November 19 between 10:00 and 11:30 am (CET). The event was broadcasted live and GO15 members were of course invited to take part in it.
