GO15 member and French power-grid operator RTE has developed its new “Ecowatt” tool on the model of French TV networks weather forecast programs. Its goal is to inform the public on the level of stress on the electricity system and encourage them to lower their consumption.
Major French TV channels (both from public network France Télévisions and private network TF1) have agreed to a partnership with RTE to display the Ecowatt forecast after their weather forecast every day. The role of this operation is to ensure this tool is widely known by the French public, offering them advice and warnings to reduce their consumption during specific periods for the following day.
