The latest International Energy Agency (IEA) report includes an in-depth study of the importance of power grids to ensure the energy transition succeeds.
The agency calls on policy makers and stake-holders to understand that efforts to tackle climate change and ensure reliable supplies of electricity around the world are bound to fail without a quick and efficient extension of the world’s electricity grids, dubbed in the report the “backbone of electricity systems”.
