The European Commission has unveiled its European Wind Power Action Plan, emphasizing the pivotal role of power grids in transitioning to renewable energy. The EU targets 111 GW by 2030 and 317 GW by 2050 for offshore wind.
This action plan underscores the importance of streamlining permitting for wind power installations and grid infrastructure to support renewable energy growth and hasten the energy transition.
ENTSO-E has welcomed this plan, stressing the need for efficient, reliable, and timely grid expansion to meet ambitious offshore wind deployment targets.
