Mr Monde Bala has been appointed CEO of the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA), South Africa’s power grid operator & GO15 member, effective October 1st 2025.
With 27 years of experience in the power sector, including as Group Executive for Eskom Distribution, Mr. Bala is tasked with driving NTCSA’s strategic agenda:
- attracting investment to strengthen the national transmission grid,
- advancing Eskom’s operational unbundling,
- and promoting a fair, competitive electricity market.
His appointment underscores South Africa’s commitment to a more efficient, reliable, and accessible power system aligned with international standards and best practices.
