GO15 member and US power grid operator MISO has unveiled the first 10 projects selected under its new Expedited Resource Addition Study (ERAS) process, designed to fast-track critical generation capacity.
The portfolio totals 5,300 MW, with in-service dates spanning from 2027 to 2028, and includes:
- 5 natural gas plants
- 3 solar projects
- 1 wind project
- 1 battery
Covering MISO’s full territory, they are the first of 47 already submitted (26,500 MW), and up to 68 may be studied before the program ends in 2027.
ERAS complements MISO’s Long Range Transmission Plan to meet demand growth, ensure reliability, and support 45 million customers.
