GO15 member and US power grid operator MISO has released its latest resource outlook, showing a significant turnaround, with expected capacity surpluses over the next five years, even with a 5.1% annual load growth.
The latest OMS-MISO survey forecasts:
- Accelerated capacity, averaging 15 GW/year in accredited summer capacity additions over the next 5 years.
- Close to 100 GW of new supplies, structured as 60% renewables/storage (wind, solar, batteries) and 40% gas-fired generation for 2032.
