The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) on June 15 opened its Jungbu Regional Headquarter in Osong, Chungcheongbuk-do, marking a major step in strengthening the resilience of Korea’s power system operations.
The new facility houses a redundant power control center and electricity market system, operating in an active-active framework with the Central Power Control Center. It was designed to support independent power system operation even during emergencies, with enhanced control functions for generation and renewable energy.
KPX said the new headquarters will help ensure greater operational continuity while supporting the expansion of renewable energy integration.
